What fuel can I use with my MSR Pocket Rocket?

MSR recommends only using MSR IsoPro™ fuel with our stoves—because our stoves are specifically designed and tuned for it and thus will perform better. However, if MSR fuel is not available, any canister with an 80% isobutane / 20% propane fuel mix and certified to EN 417 should work.
Can you use Primus fuel with MSR stove?
Any fuel can from MSR, Jetboil, Snowpeak, Primus, Optimus, etc will work just fine.
Does JetBoil fuel work with MSR Pocket Rocket?
While MSR recommends using the Pocket Rocket 2 with MSR branded Iso-pro canister gas, it also works perfectly well with isobutane canisters from any manufacturer that provide a screw-on Lindal valve, including the canisters from MSR, JetBoil, Primus, and Snow Peak that are commonly found in the USA.
Is isobutane better than propane?
Isobutane has two distinct advantages over propane. First, isobutane canisters are lighter, making it easier to carry long distances. And second, isobutane actually has more energy packed into it by volume, enabling you to cook longer with less fuel.
What is MSR fuel?
MSR IsoPro is a performance-boosting, 80/20 blend of isobutane and propane, with the purest isobutane (5% or less n-butane) of any canister fuel.
Does Coleman butane work with MSR?
This is a common standard that includes isobutane/propane fuel canisters from MSR, Primus, GasOne, and Snowpeak. You can also use butane/propane mixtures, such as Coleman. Basically, as long as the canister fits, it will work.
What is isobutane fuel?
Isobutane (i-butane) is an isomer of butane. As with normal butane, isobutane is a flammable hydrocarbon gas that is liquefied through pressurisation. Isobutane is converted from butane in an isobutane production process called isomerization. It is classified as LPG, along with propane, butane and mixes of these gases.
Can I use propane instead of isobutane?
